So I got this job!

Started at Servall this week and the job itself is pretty fun but there's alot of bullshit im going to have to go through until i get settled. But i get to drive around and kill bugs and I get to have a decent paycheck again so who am I to complain?

Preseason football is so boring.

I wonder if I should cook 1 huge meal and store the leftovers or many different small meals so I dont get tired of eating the same crap.

My brother is a dumb idiot. He needs to get his shit straight before he fucks his life up for good. I wish he had more respect for my parents but no matter what he does they never punish him enough for it. .

Bands I've Seen and More!

Well I was thinking of all the bands I've seen over the years so I am going to attempt an long long list of my live music history, so here we go!

So my first concert was when I was 16 and I saw Jackyl and Aerosmith and I've been hooked to live shows ever since.

6/29/1993 - Aerosmith & Jackyl - my first show, I saw Jackyl play with a chainsaw and how awesome Tyler & Perry are on stage - hooked on Aerosmith for life.

8/9/1995 - Bush, The Toadies, & Hum - went with Joey and each band blew me away in a totally different way.

9/11/95 - R.E.M. & Radiohead - first show I worked with Kappa Sigma and I snuck off to watch Radiohead and only caught bits and pieces of R.E.M. but they sounded good.

6/27/1996 - Lollapalooza - (outside Knoxville) - Metallica, Soundgarden, Ramones, Rancid, Screaming Trees, Psychotica, Rage Against the Machine - went with Joey to this craziness, I dont think we knew where it was but just ended up following the traffic. This was my first Rage show and it didnt disappoint, hundreds of pizza disks were flying through the air, an american flag burning in the pit, omg it was the most amazing experiences i've witnessed. The Ramones were so awesome and Rancid back to back is probably why I like punk music. And during their set the lead singer from Sponge rode up on his bike to where we were sitting on the hill and watched the set with us, nice guy. Soundgarden set was everything I dreamed it would be and Im thankful I got to see them before they called it quits. We only stayed a little more than halfway through Metallica's set because we were all tired and sunburned but it was an amazing and overwhelming day. We never left the mainstage.

6/13/1997 - No Doubt & Weezer - thunderstorms cut No Doubt's set short but I got to meet Rivers Cuomo with Joey that night. He liked my Dukes of Hazard shirt and talked to us for a while, really cool dude.

8/12/1997 - Rage Against the Machine & Wu-Tang Clan - I think everyone I knew went to this show it was so awesome! But Ol' Dirty Bastard got arrested in Nashville the night before so I didnt get to see my hero.

9/30/97 - Foo Fighters & Talk Show - First Foo Fighters experience woot!

10/7/97 - Aerosmith - Joey, Brandon, BJ, Justin and I think the whole FOD crew went to this one. I remember Joey making drinks on the dashboard of my Ranger and passing them to Brandon on the interstate.

3/14/99 - NOFX - 328 performance hall, best nashville venue EVER! - still one of the top 10 shows I've ever seen. I worked at Franklin Square at the time and Russ and Kristie were there and it was hot and sweaty and awesome.

5/15/99 - Lenny Kravitz, Black Crowes, & Everlast. Went with BJ and we sat in like the 10th row and I was near deaf after the Black Crowes.

5/31/99 - Ozzfest '99 - Black Sabbath, Rob Zombie, Deftones, Primus, Slayer, Buckethead, Fear Factory, Static-X, Slipknot - Officially hooked on Ozzfest. I was in the 7th row and the OZZFEST sign would shoot out water on everyone. Black Sabbath put a spell on me.

6/6/99 - Poison, Ratt, Great White, L.A. Guns

8/23/99 - Ted Nugent, Night Ranger, Quiet Riot, Slaughter

11/9/99 - Limp Bizkit, Method Man & Redman, & System of a Down - went with BJ and had really good seats, this was before I lost interest in Fred Durst lol, but System KILLED it!

12/8/99 - Rage Against the Machine & Gang Starr - Went with Joey, BJ, & Brandon. Battle of Nashville flag drops down and everyone goes nuts. Joey had the most ripped shirts. I twisted my ankle in the pit but I still love Rage.

5/10/00 - Staind at 328 Performance Hall

6/12/00 - Red Hot Chili Peppers & Foo Fighters

7/6/00 - Ozzfest 2000 - Ozzy, Pantera, Incubus, Methods of Mayhem, P.O.D., Queens of the Stone Age, Godsmack, Static-X, Soulfly, Kittie, Disturbed, Taproot. I GOT TO SEE PANTERA!!!!! Ozzfest is the best touring festival around, so many good bands.

8/1/00 - Vans Warped Tour - NOFX, Mxpx, Long Beach Dub Allstars, Save Ferris, urgh im drawing a blank, but Dave and Russ went so they might be able to refresh my memory.

8/14/2000 - Buzzfest 1 - P.O.D., Everclear, Everlast, Fuel, Cowboy Mouth, Dynamite Hack, Nickelback, Submethod, Mink, Low Boy, Sum 41. First Buzzfest and just something to do plus I wanted to see Everclear and Sum 41. I went with Kristie and saw a bunch of friends there, Fuel kinda impressed me.

4/20/01 - Our Lady Peace, Spacehog, Seven Mary Three - Went with BJ and hit on the Budwiser girl all nite lol, The show ran so late I think Spacehog played for like a dozen people, including me and BJ, they still rocked it.

8/28/01 - Buzzfest 2 - Ben Folds, Hank 3, Nickelback, Sevendust, 3 Doors Down. Remember buying tickets as soon as I found out Sevendust was playing, really the only reason I went.

9/19/01 - Aerosmith

10/7/01 - Tenacious D with BJ in St Louis, we got to meet Jack Black and Kyle Gass.

5/27/02 - Poison, Cinderella, Winger, Faster Pussycat - First Sighting of the FUNNEL CAKE COWBOY!

8/22/02 - Buzzfest 3 - Epidemic, Audiovent, The Doves, SR-71, Unwritten Law, Stroke 9, Tonic, Default, Filter, Nickelback. Wanted to see Filter, me and Russ went, we didnt stay for Nickelback.

10/4/02 - Aerosmith & Stone Temple Pilots - really drunk at this show!

4/18/03 - Pearl Jam w/ Sleeter Kenny - Eddie came out at the beginning of the show and played Throw Your Arms Around Me and thus the night was set for awesomeness.

8/1/03 - Poison, Vince Neil, Skid Row - I dont remember Sebastian Bach singing for Skid Row at the time.

8/6/03 - Buzzfest 4 - 3 Days Grace, V Shape Mind, Ligion, SR-71, Eve 6, Art Alexakis, Cowboy Mouth, Default, Powerman 5000, Mudvayne. Went with Russ and learned to hate Cowboy Mouth and Default but Mudvayne was awesome and played for like 3 hours.

9/13/03 - Sevendust acoustic show

5/1/94 - Nashville River Stages - Foo Fighters, Fuel, Switchfoot, Chris Robinson & New Earth Mud, Foutains of Wayne, Styx, Steppenwolf, The Strokes, George Clinton

6/9/2004 - The Darkness - went with BJ, jager and the Darkness is a great combo

7/21/04 - Evergreen Terrace, Reflux, Caliban - probably the greatest show I've ever seen at the Muse. Reflux stunned everyone.

7/22/04 - Ozzfest '04 - Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Slayer, Superjoint Ritual, Black Label Society, Slipknot, Hatebreed, Lamb of God, Atreyu, Bleeding Through, Lacuna Coil, Every Time I Die, Unearth, Otep, Throwdown. Went with Russ and Mark after the show at the Muse. Got there right as the first band played and enjoyed every band on the stage.

7/28/04 - The Cure, Interpol, Thursday, The Rapture, Mogwai. went with Russ and the Cure was AWESOME!

10/16/2004 - Buzzfest 5 - Velvet Revolver, Sevendust, Lit, The Music, Saliva, Earshot, The Burden Brothers, Paramore, Flyleaf, 10 Years. The Exies. This was probably the best Buzzfest because the overall bands were more enjoyable and I wasnt just waiting all day to see one or two bands to play. Went with Scooter from what I remember and it took for-ev-er for Velvet Revolver to take the stage but I finally got to see Slash and Duff so thats all that really mattered.

June 2005 - Bonnaroo - Dave Matthews Band, The Allman Brothers Band, The Black Crowes, Alison Krauss and Union Station, Gov't Mule, The Mars Volta, Galactic, De La Soul, Gabby LaLa w/ Les Claypool, Modest Mouse... this was my first Bonnaroo and I went with Brittney. It was really overwhelming to be in the midst of so many people. I did a lot of walking around because there weren't many bands I wanted to see but I wanted to experience a little bit of everything. It rained alot and it wasnt that bad I was just trying to keep Brittney and I entertained and alive through the weekend but I loved the whole camping out and go watch bands vibe that was going on. The people, the vibe, and the music all within a few hours of home, what a great way to spend a weekend.

7/21/05 - Weezer, Ben Folds, & The Fray - at Municipal - Took Brittney and it was a great show. New respect for Ben Folds, the Fray before they were famous, and Weezer is always the shit.

8/31/05 - Ozzfest - Black Sabbath, Mudvayne, Shadows Fall, Black Label Society, Velvet Revolver, Killswitch Engage, Rob Zombie, As I Lay Dying, The Black Dahlia Murder, Bury Your Dead, Wicked Wisdom, It Dies Today, The Haunted. Went with Russ where we met Jada Pinkett Smith. Good Day.

9/10/05 - Motley Crue at Starwood

9/30/05 - Elton John - Took Brittney to see Elton.

10/31/05 - Nine Inch Nails, Death From Above 1979, & Queens of the Stone Age. Halloween show and I went with Russ and we randomly ran into Robb and Shelley and ended up watching the show with them. Such a great show.

June 2006 - Bonnaroo - Radiohead, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Beck, Les Claypool, Damian Marley, Ben Folds, Common, The Streets, Atmopshere, Mute Math... again I saw more bands than I listed but these were all the most memorable. Went with BJ this time and was trying to getting over being dumped and as soon as the headliners were listed I knew I wanted to go. Tom Petty rocked a 3 hour set on the friday night and it was perfect. Beck and Radiohead played back to back and the experience that day was absolutely beautiful, two of my favorite bands and I was left full of joy. Good times.

6/21/06 - Vans Warped Tour - NOFX, Every Time I Die, Helmet, Joan Jett, Aiden, From Autum To Ashes, Paramore, Underoath,

7/16/06 - Def Leppard & Journey - missed most of Journey but got to hear Separate Ways \m/, and Def Leppard was ok for a one-armed drummer.

7/29/2006 - Family Values Tour - Korn, Deftones, Stone Sour, Flyleaf, 10 Years, Bury Your Dead, Deadsy - went with Russ and everyone in the grass started chucking clumps of grass to the people with seats, it was great. I snuck to the seats before Korn and when they came out to the crowd to play the acoustic set I was close enough to snag the setlist.

10/19/06 - Aerosmith & Motley Crue - Went with Russ and Gordon, too much traffic and missed most of the Crue and it was cold and raining. Not the best night for a concert but still fun. LAST SHOW I SAW AT STARWOOD :(

11/10/06 - Killswitch Engage, All That Remains, Shadows Fall, Bury Your Dead. Went with Joey and this was my first Killswitch Show, and definitely not the last.

3/30/07 - Parkway Drive, Comeback Kid, This is Hell, Endwell - Parkway Drive is metal.

5/26/07 - Deftones and Fall of Troy - BEST DEFTONES SHOW EVER! My jeans were soaked from sweat.

June 2007 - Bonnaroo - The Police, Tool, The White Stripes, Ben Harper, The Flaming Lips, The Roots, The Superjam (Ben Harper, Questlove, and John Paul Jones playing Led Zeppelin), Galactic, Wolfmother, Ween, Clutch, The Nightwatchman, Mute Math, Manchester Orchestra... there were so many more bands I wanted to see but there were lots of scheduling conflicts and bands I never knew existed that I would later wish I had seen. Tool was my selling point on this Bonnaroo, the Police were kind of disappointing but all the other bands I got to see were great. The Roots covered Bob Dylan's Masters of War (blew me away). The Superjam was as close to seeing Led Zeppelin that I'm ever going to see. The Flaming Lips covered War Pigs as a soundcheck and killed their set at 1am. Went with Jeremy, Brittney, and Ali and saw Joe Flowers and others while I was there. We had a great camping spot and the weather was dry and hot but still had an amazing time.

1/22/08 - Killswitch Engage, Every Time I Die, Parkway Drive, Dillinger Escape Plan

1/26/08 - Foo Fighters - at Municipal

June 2008 - Bonnaroo - Pearl Jam, Metallica, Jack Johnson, Chris Rock, Superjam (Kurt Hammet and Gogol Bordello), Les Claypool, Willie Nelson, Mastodon, MSTRKRFT, Dark Star Orchestra, Ladytron, Ghostland Observatory, The Sword, Lez Zeppelin, MGMT, My Morning Jacket... Pearl Jam sold me on this because they are AWESOME! and they were. The only downpoint of this weekend was Kanye West being a little bitch but it was still a great weekend. Went with Atilio, Jenna, Shawn and Buffy Dove, Dallas, and a few other friends. Awesome camping, awesome music, awesome friends.

8/7/08 - Journey & Cheap Trick - Went with Gordon to see the new Journey singer, he was good. Our drinks were total alcohol though.

10/31/08 - Nine Inch Nails - Sommet Center - Halloween Show went with Ben. Most amazing NIN show because of the 3 curtain screens.

5/13/09 - Killswitch Engage, Disturbed, Lacuna Coil, Chimera. Evansville with Jessica an overcast day and all I really wanted to see was Killswitch, and they didn't play long enough

5/30/09 - Nine Inch Nails, Jane's Addiction, Street Sweeper Social Club - Noblesville, IM

June 2009 - Bonnaroo - Bruce Springsteen, Beastie Boys, Nine Inch Nails, Phish, Erykah Badu, Al Green, Public Enemy, Girl Talk, Shadows Fall, Coheed and Cambria, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, David Byrne, Animal Collective, wanted to see more but you never get to see everyone you want to at Bonnaroo. Went with Atilio, Jenna, Ben, Dallas, Jeremy and a bunch of others that made a nice crew for us. Bruce sucked but I didnt really expect him to be good anyways. I loved the Beastie Boys although they did fuck up a few times but License to Ill was the first tape I ever bought so they could do no wrong. Nine Inch Nails yet again and always amaze me and the biggest surprise for me was Al Green, such an awesome performer. Girl Talk and Coheed was so much fun to finally see. Till next year Bonnaroo.

7/22/09 - The Acacia Strain & Evergreen Terrace

7/23/09 - Incubus - St Louis, good random roadtrip with Atilio, Jenna, and Russ. One of the best setlists i've ever heard.

I think thats all my brain can spit out right now, i'll update if more come to me

insomnia and old tv

so I cant sleep yet again so ive been watching hulu and I stumbled upon The Dana Carvey Show. Its odd because it was on ABC in 1996, costared Steve Carrell, Stephen Colbert, and Robert Smigel. And it was cancelled after like 6 episodes. Some of it was kinda funny, it was like a 1996 white version of the chapelle show, but the skits involved too much political and (looking back) dated material.

It couldve been good

I want to sleep like a normal person...

Baseball rocks my socks

So I just got back from a Braves game, where they kicked the Rockies ass 12-3, it was a blast with Lem, Britt, Joe, and of course Hurricane. Hey Fowler, you suck! lol

just wanted to share, the only bad part is the 5 hours it took to get back.

job hunting kinda sucks...

So I've had about a week of nothing to do so I worked on my portfolio site www.thejamieedwards.com and sending out resumes, now its just a waiting game I guess. I really want to find a job in my career field but I need something to bide my time. Im taking a bunch of roadtrips this summer so thats something but I cant freakout and spend a bunch of money. If only I could win the lottery lol

peace

This is only a test

So I finished what I deem to be my last "hell week" of college and it should be a breeze for the next few weeks, unless I get dunked on by Patrick Chewing...

So I will finally get what I earned, a degree. And now with the shitty job market I doubt I can get a job as soon as I would like so I'm starting my masters to keep myself busy.

I imagine if I stood right in front of you, staring in your eyes, waving my arms, wearing an outfit made of strobe lights, screaming compliments at you at the top of my lungs...you still wouldnt notice me.
